Home shoppers online browse through hundreds of possibilities within their price range and area. A powerful photo can turn a browser into a prospect in a matter of seconds by catching their eye.
Good photos start with an open, clean and bright area to take the picture. Sometimes it involves moving a peice of furnture or adding a light here or there. Turn on all the lamps and overhead lights. Remove clutter and small objects.
A wide angle lens is a must for any real estate photographer, because it captures more room in the frame. The room will look much bigger in the photo. Sometimes distortion can occur with wide angle lenses.
Time of day is important in real estate photography. For daytime photos, noon is the best time to shoot because the sun is not shining directily in any window. You may need additional lighting and/or flash to acheive a great look if there are extreme contrasts. with windows and interiors. Some believe the perfect time is right at dusk or early morning, when the light on the inside is almost equal to the light outside.
